Pearls are not Gemstones which are formed by minerals. Pearls are formed with the help of living creatures Mollusks. When any irritant substances get inside the mouth Mollusks or Oyster they produce a substance known as Calcium Carbonate - “Nacre” also known as the “Mother of Pearls” to protect them. In the process of producing Nacre they also give birth to the beautiful thing of the world “The Pearls”.
Pearls are considered to the “Tears of God”, and are associated with Moon symbolizing purity and love. It is attributed with powers and incorporated with stories of past. Underlying its mysterious beauty are the culture and wonderful encounter it came across from the centuries.

The different Myths which these Pearls are folded with are:

• According to the Hindu culture the first pear was discovered by Lord Krishna and it was gifted to his daughter on her wedding day.
• In the Mohammedan tradition it is spoken with high regards as it is found in Koran where it says that it a reward found in Heaven and symbolizes perfection.
• Christianity regards Pearls as purity and hence considered to be auspicious to wear during wedding. According to them it also symbolizes tears, love, fertility, and above all helps to ward off evil.
• According to the Chinese it is believed that Pearls felled from the sky when the Dragon had fight with the Gods.
• Whereas, Greek believes that Pearls are the tears of Gods. When the God of love was born in the Sea. The tears of joy hardened and formed the Pearls in the sea.
• A pearl are also considered to have some medicinal value and contributes in treating various ailments.

Pearls its different colors and its different meaning:

Although we find the color of Pearl commonly in cream and white… yet shares a hues of different colors depending on the mollusks and oyster and the circumstances they are formed in. The different shades of color found in Pearls are:

• White Pearls: it symbolizes purity and innocence and hence generally worn by the brides of to show their unconditional love and pure intention to their husband.
• Black Pearls:  it is one of the rare Pearl available in the market and it is considered to bring prosperity luck and prosperity to the wearer.
